Even on a 386 processor, complex thumbnail graphics appear almost instantly. Longer file names mean easier organization Once your label is designed you may now save your label with a longer file name for easy identification and classification purposes. (32 bit version only) New interface design loaded with plenty of ease-of-use features Coupled with help keys on each box, tabbed dialog boxes make navigation simpler and more logical. LabelView will save even more time in training of your staff. New alignment tools for left, right, center, top, and bottom allow you to easily align multiple objects. Improved and updated On-disk help and context sensitive help For all the information you need at your finger-tips, we have included the complete manuals for LabelView and PrintPad on disk. Hundreds of new ""help pages"" have been added with dozens of screen shots complete with explanations. A comprehensive collection of FAQ's and Pro and Gold tutorials are included to help you master LabelView quickly and easily. You will appreciate the context sensitive help the most - every dialog box has a ""HELP"" button that instantly displays relevant information. We are simplifying our printed manual to help you get started quickly, with less confusion. The simpler, condensed manual will also facilitate international translation. New Link Expressions make calculations even easier New link expressions (ways to add math, calculations or functions on a label) have been added. You can now right justify zero fill a field. You may get the length of a string, and for Canadian customers, you may calculate the unique Canada Customs check digit. Universal Case Code (UCC) Label builder For customers who need special UCC code 128 labels, all Application Identifiers (AI's) are included. Just select the one you need and LabelView inserts the correct code. New 24 K: LabelView Gold features Custom 'Front End' - Visual Basic built in LabelView can export any label design screen to Visual Basic with one click of the mouse. This automatically creates a VB 4.0/5.0 form to simplify the process of customizing ""when printed"" data entry screens with th enhanced logic, large boxes and more. ClickPrint to automatically send the DDE commands to LabelView- without DDE programming Scales ""R"" US Connecting scales and serial devices is easy with CommWatch, but it wasn't easy enough. LabelView 5.0 includes dozens of popular scales from major vendors. Each one is pre-configured with communications parameters and command codes Just select one from the list and go! In-Motion scales are now supported. These scales send a constant weight as goods pass by on a conveyor; CommWatch can now detect when the weight 'stabilizes' and records just one, correct weight. Some scales use ""carrier detect"" or other communications handshaking signals; these are now supported. Users asked for a repeat-prompt loop function; so 1 or more fields can be entered, a weight recorded, and the process repeat automatically. This is now an integral part of CommWatch. Printing to any bar code or windows printer from an AS/400, mainframe or UNIX host has been made simpler and faster. Command file printing capabilities have been expanded to handle a wider array of files. The host can send a flat file- either fixed length, comma 'delimited' text, dBase, or one of several command file formats. New functions allow the host to embed instructions for LabelView in these files. Many wild-card files are now supported; allowing dozens of different command files to be processed efficiently. This is ideal for multi-user batch or RF terminal applications. Network Printer management-better enterprise printing Printers can have an alias in 5.0; which means you can send data to ""Shipping label printer"" instead of needing to know ""PC65\\Datamax 800 on com1"". Multiple copies of the same printer driver are now allowed to be present anywhere on the network. IP addressing of printers allows printing in complex, WAN or multi-LAN environments. Batch printing has been enhanced to offer choices of when and how to print job separators. PrintPad enhancements Browse a database and select any item(s) desired without keying. CommWatch capabilities have been improved for scale and scanner connections Database entries are now verified.
