The InData Systems VeriFone Age Verification Upgrade system sits on the sales counter in open view of the customer and allows the use of your current Point-of-sale transaction scanning but adds the 2D bar coded driver license scanning. With a simple insertion of the customer's driver's license or manual input of the birth date, the terminal responds instantly with an OK or denial of purchase of typical age-restricted products - tobacco or alcohol. Denying customers a purchase is always challenging, but you need to comply with the law. Cashiers say that it is often easier to tell the customer that the system - rather than the cashier - has denied the sale. For cashiers it means less stress but with full compliance of the laws.
