Click image for a larger view Sorry, no brochure is available for this product Features Description Overview These ergonomically designed scanners are available in three interfaces, two optical systems and three sizes. The ES5140/5440/5540 are the most economical scanners offered by DENSEI, while still providing high quality, reliability, and performance. Their imager uses a 2048 element CCD that, like all linear CCD's, is electronically similar to a one-line TV camera. The scanner digitally images the bar code and then decodes the data. Decoded data is then transmitted in either RS-232, wand emulation, or AT keyboard wedge (including notebook PC compatibility) formats. The output format is selected by a bar code menu including the necessary parameters to meet virtually any interface requirement. An important feature of these scanners is their low power consumption. The ES5140 only requires 55mA while scanning and less than 1.0mA in the standby mode. This is compared to over 250 mA operating and over 25mA standby current for many other scanning devices. The three sizes in this series are 1.9 inch, 2.6 inch and 3.3 inch. Standard cables include a 2 meter (6.8 foot) straight or coiled (extended length) cords. Numerous connectors are available from stock to meet interface requirements. Features - Human Engineered - The compact, ergonomic design and light weight of the scanner make it easy to hold and use, even for small hands. The angled shape allows for wrist neutral scanning, reducing repetitive motion injuries. - Low power consumption - The advanced electronic design is very power efficient allowing for use with marginal power supplies and for portable data collection applications. - Three interfaces in one - The user can easily go from wand to RS-232 to AT wedge operation with the programming menue and simple tools. This allows the same scanner to be used as your equipment needs change. - Easy to configure - Many data output variables can easily be changed by scanning a series of bar code symbols in the scanner's programming menu. - High move tolerance - The scanner will read while still in motion relative to the bar code symbol. This allows the scanning function to become secondary to the actual work being performed. - Excellent scanning performance - The advanced one line VIDEO/CCD scanning operation is like a one line TV camera. The solid state imager, decoder and interface electronics are highly reliable and have no moving parts. All common linear bar codes are easily read.
